Daily Postcard: Tarantula Marches In Pajarito Acres

Daily Postcard: Male tarantulas, such as this one crossing the road Thursday in Pajarito Acres, leave their burrows to search for females. This mass migration is often called the “tarantula March”. It typically starts in September and runs through October, depending on the weather. Female tarantulas typically stay close to their burrows and use pheromones to attract a mate.
