The Los Alamos County Traffic and Streets Division announced that contract crews will resume Diamond Drive crack sealing work Friday, Sept. 27 and continue throughout the weekend, weather permitting.
Work is scheduled 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and traffic delays are anticipated.
This crack sealing work will occur in a mobile work zone approximately 100 feet in length between Trinity Drive and the roundabout at North Mesa, alternating on both sides of the road. Lane reductions with traffic control devices will be in place at the work zone, but two-way traffic will be maintained. Bicyclists may need to share lanes with vehicles in the work zone.
On Friday, crews will be restricted to the area between the North Mesa roundabout and 38th/Arkansas to avoid the Los Alamos High School Home Coming Parade activities. Work will continue south on Diamond Drive on Saturday and Sunday during the day. Work may continue Monday, if needed.
Motorists are encouraged to reduce speed in the work zone for the safety of the workers. For more information, contact Los Alamos County Streets Superintendent Daniel Campos at 505.500.7321.
