SANTA FE—Del Norte Credit Union (DNCU), Northern New Mexico’s hometown financial cooperative, is proud to announce a partnership with Canyon Road Contemporary Art, bringing a new installation to the DNCU Cordova branch.

The exhibit features works by Lester Berman, a contemporary, abstract artist whose exuberant works feature vivid colors and playful composition.
DNCU is pleased to showcase Berman’s works at the Cordova branch under the DNCU North Star Artist program, launched in 2013. This installation marks the 7th exhibit in the program, and is a marked new direction, with Berman’s strong all-over-space composition, which he credits to painting with spontaneous gestures.
“I must be free of thinking—thinking moves me outside the painting,” Berman said. “When I am creating, I am inside the canvas trying to get out. Painting is active, spontaneous, immediate.”
Berman’s paintings have been exhibited in renowned institutions such as the San Diego Museum of Art and Berkeley Art Center, and in shows by curators representing the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum of Art. Berman is also an accomplished producer/production manager who most recently worked on the series Manhattan; in addition, he has more than 30 feature films and documentaries under his belt.
“Our members are really going to enjoy how Lester’s work enlivens the DNCU Cordova branch—and will be especially pleasing for the holiday season,” DNCU President/CEO states Chuck Valenti, said.
The show will run through January and Berman’s pieces are available for purchase through Canyon Road Contemporary Art.
