Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities crews worked continuously from Friday evening through Saturday night on a water main leak. The broken 16-inch transmission line has been replaced in an area between Woodland Road and the golf course. Gas, water and sewer crews still need to backfill the excavation area, DPU spokesperson Julie Williams Hill said today. Customers did not lose water service but did experience low water pressure. Water was restored to most customers affected by the water break by 1:30 a.m. Sunday and to the remaining affected customers by 9 a.m. and Williams Hill said the water lost is estimated at 1,207,000 gallons.
