RIO RANCHO — After a month-long hiatus, the Duke City Gladiators are gearing up to make a triumphant return to the Rio Rancho Event Center for their highly anticipated home game on Saturday, May 11. Fans can expect an electrifying showdown as the Gladiators face off against the San Antonio Gunslingers in what promises to be a thrilling clash on the gridiron.
The excitement surrounding this game has reached fever pitch, with the Gladiators eagerly anticipating the opportunity to go head-to-head with the Gunslingers. Adding to the buzz, the recent signing of quarterback Joe Mancuso has injected renewed energy and enthusiasm into the team. Hailing from the picturesque town of Blairsville, Ga., Mancuso brings a wealth of talent and experience to the Gladiators, having left an indelible mark on the football landscape with 429 pass completions and 39 touchdowns during his tenure at the University of Richmond. Mancuso’s professional journey, from the Winnipeg Blue-Bombers to the Vegas Knight Hawks, speaks volumes about his talent and dedication, and he has etched his name in the annals of football history.
But Mancuso isn’t the only exciting addition to the team. The Gladiators have also secured the signing of offensive lineman Zech Thomas, a formidable player with previous experience in both the IFL and the XFL. Thomas, who previously played for the Northern Arizona Wrangles and the Seattle Sea Dragons, brings a wealth of skill and leadership to the Gladiators, having served as a captain and earning 2X All-MIAA selection for the Gorillas from 2016 to 2020.
