ESPAÑOLA — The New Mexico Department of Veterans Services (NMDVS) will host a public listening session Friday, May 6 regarding the proposal by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to close the Española community-based outpatient clinic (CBOC).

NMDVS Cabinet Secretary Sonya Smith will lead the session, 10 a.m. to noon at the Northern New Mexico College Event Center, at 921 Paseo de Oñate in Española.

Veterans, their spouses, and the general public are invited to attend.

Secretary Smith will have the latest information on VA’s Asset and Infrastructure Review (AIM) committee report listing the city’s CBOC on its recommended closures list. Public comment will also be encouraged at the conclusion of the secretary’s briefing.
