C’YA To Offer Free Suicide Prevention Training Jan. 4
Champions of Youth Ambitions, C’YA, sponsored by 100 Men Who Care, will offer a free Suicide Prevention training. The class will be held 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at the White Rock Branch Library.
The class will provide instruction on how to recognize signs of someone struggling and ways to offer them hope.
Each class provides a list of local and state resources and an informative booklet. The class is for adults and available to the first 35 people.

The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) invites Girl Scouts to join two exciting space-themed programs this January at Los Alamos Nature Center.
Brownies can earn their Space Science Adventurer badge Jan 19, exploring the solar system and stargazing indoors.
Jan. 26, Junior Girl Scouts will earn their Space Science Investigator badge, with activities like using a solar telescope and enjoying a planetarium show. Both programs promise hands-on experiences that will inspire young minds to reach for the stars!

Barranca Elementary School Pajama Drive A Huge Success!
Barranca Mesa Elementary School held its Annual Scholastic Pajama Drive. Students and families donated new pajamas to children in need in northern New Mexico. This year, Barranca Mesa Elementary School students surpassed their goal and collected 301 pairs of children’s pajamas. For every pair of pajamas donated, Scholastic donates a new book. Steel Structures Up, Crane Moved Off Site At Chamisa
The structural steel work is erected and large crane disassembled and moved off site Friday at the Chamisa Elementary School project under construction on Meadow Lane in White Rock.
