UNM-LA Transitions To ‘Remote Operations’ Monday

UNM-LA News:

UNM-Los Alamos will transition to “remote operations” Monday, May 9, as the designation of Los Alamos County moves to “Set” status due to the Cerro Pelado Fire. 

Los Alamos County and Los Alamos National Laboratory announced this morning that as of 8 a.m. Monday, May 9, the area will be officially in the “Set” status, according to the “Ready, Set, Go protocol.

There are currently no evacuation orders for Los Alamos County.

Los Alamos Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Jose Delfin and Assistant Superintendent Jennifer Guy issued the following information regarding this week’s school closure announcement:

Los Alamos County will move into “set” status (at 8 a.m.) Monday, May 9, according to the “Ready, Set, Go” protocol. There are currently NO evacuation orders for Los Alamos County.

Aspen Elementary School 6th grader Elena Roybal has been awarded a Nacha Mendez Music Scholarship. She will receive a first-place level scholarship in the younger girl category in the amount of $2,000. The NMMS Awards Ceremony will be held May 9 at SITE Santa Fe.
