UNM-LA Advisory Board Vacancy

UNM-LA News:

Michael DiRosa has resigned his position as a UNM-Los Alamos Advisory Board member due to a work assignment that will have him away from Los Alamos for the next two years. 

DiRosa was elected to the position in February of 2015.

To say that Los Alamos High School teacher Holly Phillips is proud of her students would be an understatement. This week, Phillips, a work study teacher was proud to announce that two of her pupils have taken the skills they have acquired to launch their own business.

State Museums; Historic Sites Closed Easter Sunday

STATE News:
 
The four state museums in Santa Fe, the New Mexico Museum of Art and New Mexico History Museum/Palace of the Governor’s both located on the Plaza, and the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture and the Museum of International Folk Art both located on Museum Hill, will be closed Easter Sunday.
 
The museums will reopen at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 29.
 
All state historic sites also will be closed on Easter Sunday;

Los Alamos sent 69 projects and 74 students to the regional competition. Of the 69 projects presented by Los Alamos students, 35 received awards.

Safety Town is returning to Mountain Elementary School 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday, June 13-24.

This free safety program is open to all children entering Kindergarten in the Fall or who will be five years of age by Sept. 1. DECA Students Host Garage Sale Fundraiser Saturday

Los Alamos High School DECA is hosting a garage sale fundraiser 7-11 a.m., Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, 715 Diamond Dr.

Proceeds from the garage sale will go toward sending 20 students from the local DECA Chapter to the National Competition in April in Nashville, Tenn.
