As Executive Director of University of New Mexico – Los Alamos, I want to outline the benefits to the UNM-Los Alamos campus of General Obligation Bond “C” in the Nov. 6 General Election, and why it makes sense to the citizens of Los Alamos.
If Bond C passes in the Nov. 6 General Election, the University of New Mexico – Los Alamos will receive $500,000 for renovations and upgrades to its science labs.

UNM-LA Postpones January 2013 Mil Election
UNM-LA News:
After several meetings with UNM administration and the UNM Board of Regents, UNM-Los Alamos was advised to postpone its resolution question for an operational mil increase until later in 2013.
This decision was reached by the UNM Board of Regents with the desire that UNM-Los Alamos have a successful election and in consideration of the uncertainty in the economy and with federal budget decisions and their impact on Los Alamos National Laboratory employment and the Los Alamos community.

Natali Steinberg, docent of the Leonora Curtin Wetland Preserve, is offering her popular guided tour of the ecological treasure, leaving noon Sunday, Oct. 21 from PEEC, 3540 Orange St.

Public Invited to LAMS Turf Field and Track Ribbon Cutting

The community of Los Alamos is invited to a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Los Alamos Middle School Turf Field and Track at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11.
The ceremony takes place at the LAMS football field prior to the start of the Hawks football game vs. McCurdy.
The new turf and track project started back in 2009 with the LAPS Athletic Department investigating the benefits of a turf field.

The series begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 with a showing of The Big Year.
