The Knights of Columbus, Council 3137, is hosting Lenten Friday Fish Fry Dinners, 5-7 p.m. March 7 through April 11 in the Karen McLaughlin Parish Hall at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3700 Canyon Road.
The Knights host this fundraiser in order to offer college scholarships to students graduating from Los Alamos High School (LAHS). Proceeds raised at this year’s Lenten Friday Fish Fry Dinners will fund scholarships for the LAHS Class of 2026.

Registration for the US Kids Golf Program’s Spring 2025 session opens March 3, 2025! SANTA FE — Monday, Feb. 24, the New Mexico Senate passed Senate Bill 242 (SB 242), the Advancing the Science of Reading Act, by a vote of 32-6.
If signed into law, it would require teacher licensing candidates to demonstrate competency in structured literacy and the science of reading.

It’s almost time for preschool! Registration for the Los Alamos Public Schools Preschool program for 4-year-olds opens Monday, March 3. The district has preschool at all five elementary sites. The Los Alamos High School 2022-2024 literary magazine, Pegasus, has been recognized with an Excellent distinction in the Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary magazines (REALM) contest.
This ranking of Excellent was given by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). The 2020-2021 Pegasus also received this distinction.
The creation of Pegasus is a school-sponsored activity that has a long-standing tradition at Los Alamos High School, starting in 1965. The publication features poems, short stories and artwork by LAHS students.
