SANTA FE — The New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) announced today that it will receive nearly $60 million in federal grant funds over the next five years to develop and implement evidence-based literacy interventions and supports to help students achieve key literacy milestones.
The funding will be allocated annually at $11.99 million per year, contingent upon appropriations from Congress and substantial progress of the PED toward performance targets outlined in the grant application.

County Update On Bathtub Row Reconstruction Project
Los Alamos County Public Works Department, in partnership with Department of Public Utilities and under contract with TLC Plumbing & Utility, continues to work on the Bathtub Row Reconstruction Project.
The project limits are Bathtub Row from Central Avenue to Peach Street, Peach/Nectar Street to 15th Street and utility improvements along 15th Street.
The project is divided into two phases with Phase 1 to be completed prior to winter. Phase 2 will start after a winter suspension, with a project substantial completion date of August 2025.
