DFA Offers $330K In Grants To Local Governments For Surrender Safety Devices To Help Save Infant Children

SANTA FE — Local governments in New Mexico are eligible for $10,000 grants from the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) for Surrender Safety Devices.

DFA is providing grants on a rolling basis until the state reaches the funding cap of $330,000. 

In October 2023, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham approved $330,000 in funds for local governments to plan, design, construct, equip and install surrender safety devices for their communities.

Governor Declares State Of Emergency For Sandoval County

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed an executive order today declaring a state of emergency in Sandoval County due to flooding in the Jemez River corridor, which affected the Village of Jemez Springs water treatment facility, the Jemez/Walatowa Pueblo and the Village of San Ysidro.
