SANTA FE – The New Mexico Environment Department is seeking public comment on the Draft Volkswagen Beneficiary Mitigation Plan. The plan summarizes the State’s goals for the allocation of approximately $18 million towards eligible projects.
Eligible projects are required to mitigate the excess nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions caused by Volkswagen’s use of illegal defeat devices in certain diesel vehicles in years past.
