Poll workers assist voters obtain ballots for the 2017 LAPS and UNM-LA Advisory Board Election late this afternoon in the Municipal Building. Los Alamos County Elections Manager Gloria Maestas told the Los Alamos Daily Post that as of about 4:45 p.m. today, 311 votes were cast at the Municipal Building in Los Alamos and 489 were cast at the library in White Rock. The County Clerk’s Office also has received 352 early/absentee ballots delivered in person and another 19 sent in by mail. The polls close at 7 p.m. today. Lawmakers Agree On Bipartisan Compromise To Fund New Mexico Courts

SANTA FE – Today House leadership of both parties agreed on a compromise amendment to provide emergency funding to New Mexico’s judiciary branch.
The compromise was adopted as an amendment to House Bill 261 in the House Appropriations and Finance Committee earlier today. The amendment, drafted by Speaker Brian Egolf (D-Santa Fe) and Rep. Nate Gentry (R-Bernalillo), makes supplemental appropriations for the New Mexico Supreme Court and the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC).
