Voter Registration Agent Training And Voter Registration Drives Planned To Help Raise Awareness

Throughout September, the Los Alamos County Clerk’s Office will host a Voter Registration Agent Training and Voter Registration drives to help raise awareness about the upcoming election.

The County Clerk’s Office will conduct a Voter Registration Agent Training 3:30 p.m.to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14, in the Council Chambers for those wishing to solicit and provide assistance to another person in the completion of a Voter Registration Form. New Mexico Supreme Court Hears School Elections Case At 9 a.m. Wednesday

At 9 a.m. Wednesday, the New Mexico Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on the League of Women Voters vs. the Advisory Committee to the New Mexico Compilation Commission case, known as “the school elections case.” 

The Writ of Mandamus that the League filed in 2015 argues that the electorate actually did approve Constitutional Amendments in 2008 and in 2014 allowing school elections to be held at the same time as other non-partisan elections. Wednesday we saw two presidential candidates discuss national security without ever mentioning the word “peace.” We were pleased to see that topics such as deported veterans, sexual assault in the military, veterans suffering from PTSD and the alarming rates of veterans committing suicide were discussed. Letter To The Editor: Bullying In Politics

This may be a weird sounding letter, but I do not like politics. I do not like politics because of how each major party candidate talks mean about one another.
 
If we were in school this type of behavior would be called bullying. It would be nice if we held all people to the same standards as we expect from our middle schoolers (I am one on them).
