I very much appreciate the support expressed by the community last night. I am delighted and honored to be able to serve Los Alamos as your councilor for another four years. If you voted for me, one last thank you. If you didn’t, I will do my best to earn your trust!
During the campaign, I got a chance for many in-depth discussions with Susan O’Leary, Andrea Cunningham and Michael Redondo, and was impressed by their thoughtfulness and love for Los Alamos. I am looking forward to working with Susan as a fellow councilor, and I am sure that Andrea Read More

Letter to the Editor: Vote For A Progressive, Aggressive Council
By GEORGE R. JENNINGS Jr.Yes, I went to the League of Women Voters forum for the eight County Council candidates.
And yes I asked a question: “When elected what will be your top one or two initiatives to make Los Alamos more than a one-company town?”
And no candidate had a good answer, although Redondo alluded to a “needs further consideration”. Two of the democratic candidates – IZRAELEVITZ and O’LEARY – agreed to misinterpret the question as total Laboratory closure, and basically dodged the possibility of funding reductions and said “that never has and Read More
Letter to the Editor: Partisan Attack Misdirected
Robert Gibson, ChairThe recent letter by a prominent local Democrat (“Sign Laws are for Everyone,” Los Alamos Daily Post, Saturday, Nov. 1) exemplifies several facets of today’s political climate that turns so many people off. The letter asserts that “Republicans” were campaigning illegally near the High School late last Tuesday afternoon and had done so previously. It also asserts citations were issued. The letter then blasts Republicans several times.
At least the letter writer recognized that likely “the Republican Party knew nothing Read More
Letter to the Editor: Witnessing Candidate Susan O’Leary’s Integrity
By MARVEL HARRISONCunningham: Thank You, Vote And Consider Me For Council
By ANDREA CUNNINGHAMAs we move toward election day on Nov. 4 and the end of the campaign season, I would like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow County Council candidates for their civil discourse, consideration and respect for me and each other throughout the race.
It saddens me to see the vitriol and fear based ads for all levels of the other races. No matter our opinions, we should treat each other with dignity and respect as fellow human beings. Los Alamos is blessed to have candidates where we can distinguish ourselves through presenting our views
Letter to the Editor: From My Family To Yours
Some people know Paul Martinez as a role model for Los Alamos youth while others know Paul Martinez as an active member of the community, in part due to the many board positions in which he has served. Some have known him as a coach, neighbor, home builder or mentor. I know him and am proud to call him my dad!
I am filled with pride, as a daughter, to hear people express gratitude for his being a guiding influence for them when they were younger. I couldn’t be any more fortunate to have such an honorable and caring person to be my father and grandfather to my children
O’Leary: Please Vote … And Consider Me For The Council
By SUSAN O’LEARY
Candidate for County Council
Election Day is this Tuesday, Nov. 4. If you’ve already voted, thank you for participating. If you haven’t voted yet and are still thinking about who to vote for, here are a few reasons to consider supporting me.
I’m a seasoned manager with years of experience serving in leadership roles in a large, successful for-profit organization. I’ve been held accountable for delivering specific results; aligning day-to-day decisions with high level goals, and making sure that funds were spent in ways that truly served strategic level goals. Letter to the Editor: Sign Laws Are For Everyone
By KARYL ANN ARMBRUSTEROn Tuesday a political savvy teacher passed by Los Alamos High School at 4:30 p.m. and saw some Republicans waving candidate signs on the sidewalk by the school property. But, in addition, there were numerous large and small candidate signs stuck into the ground, which blocked visual access to Diamond Drive from Canyon Road. She was concerned and called me.
This was the third time she had seen this action on the high school property with the Republicans. Los Alamos County has strict ordinances that candidates must follow with signage. In
