NMDOT Issues Reminder About Political Signs
NMDOT News:
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) wants to remind political campaigns about the public safety issue regarding placing campaign signs and posters in state highway right-of-ways.
State highway right-of-ways mean all roads, patrol yards and rest areas owned, controlled or maintained by the NMDOT. The term “road” means the entire width of the right of way, including, but not limited to travel lanes, roadside, shoulder, median, ditches, culverts, ramps, turnouts and easements.

Los Alamos Federated Republican Women are available 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Los Alamos High School to register students who will be 18 years old before Nov. 4.
Students will need to know their Social Security Number in order to register. Registration will allow them to vote in the Nov. 4 General Election.

By PEGGY E. WILLIAMSCAN’T WE HAVE AT LEAST ONE COMMUNITY EVENT WITHOUT POLITICS! We should be focused on our kids not our political views.
There are plenty of other community venues for the politicians. We have three other parades through the year, not to mention the craft fairs in May and October. And of course the Friday night concerts at the pond.
This should be the one event our kids should not have to compete for community attention.
