Letter to the Editor: Malicious PAC Ads

By VINCENT CHIRAVALLE
House Dist. 43 Candidate

I have received numerous phone calls from angry supporters alerting me to the fact that the New Mexico Future PAC has circulated some postcards attacking me, although disappointing it is not surprising.

Unfortunately the world of politics has become infested with PAC teams who do the dirty work by creating exaggerations, distortions and untruths to influence you, the voter, and this is seen by some as a way to win.

Those of you who know me know what I am about and what I stand for. I have been upfront on the issues and what I believe in from the beginning, Read More

Letter to the Editor: Why Alan Weber Should Be Nominee

Seeking the Democrat’s Gubernatorial Nominee

By CARL NEWTON
Los Alamos

I have been following this race closely for several months, and have had personal interactions Read More

Column: PAC Attack Ads Help No One

By ROBERT GIBSON, Chair
Republican Party of Los Alamos

In these final days of the primary election campaign, Republican households have received mailed flyers attacking one of the GOP candidates for state representative in our district.

These mailings originated from a political action committee (PAC) outside Los Alamos with no connection to the opposing candidate and obviously no appreciation for our tradition of civil and respectful political discourse.

The same sort of PAC advertising on both sides marred the general election campaign for the same office two years ago.
