Overfilled Brush Roll Carts … Let’s Talk!
COUNTY News:
Just a quick reminder about brush roll carts (the brown ones for yard debris like branches and trimmings).
County crews have noticed a few carts getting overfilled lately—branches sticking out, lids unable to close, or items piled on top.
When carts are overfilled, it:
-
-
-
-
-
- Makes pickup difficult or even impossible;
- Puts stress on the collection equipment; and
- Increases the risk of messes or injuries for our crews.
-
-

-
Please remember:
- Keep the lid fully closed; and
- Don’t pile anything above the rim.
Do you have large branches or too much material? Consider scheduling Read More

Daily Postcard: Ash-Throated Flycatcher In White Rock
Daily Postcard: This Ash-Throated Flycatcher and others have been seen repeatedly in the last week near Kimberly Lane on the Canyon Rim Trail in White Rock. According to All About Birds, these flycatchers live in dry scrub, woodlands, and deserts in the West. They are especially well-suited to these habitats, since they don’t need to drink water. Rather, they get all the water they need from the insects they eat. Photo by Richard Skolnik Read More

COUNTY News:
How to remove a tick
If you find a tick attached to your skin, remove it as soon as possible. Do not wait to go to a healthcare provider to remove the tick. Follow these steps to remove a tick:
- Using clean, fine-tipped tweezers, grasp the tick as close to the skin’s surface as possible. If fine-tipped tweezers are unavailable, use regular tweezers or your fingers to grasp the tick.
- Grasp the tick close
