Come dance and celebrate the month of love with the legendary music of Los Angeles-based band Los Lobos.
This benefit concert for Española Humane kicks off the 2018 concert season 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center. 201 Marcy St., Santa Fe. Tickets are $35 in advance and on sale now at https://tickets.holdmyticket.com or by calling 505.886.1251. Tickets are $35 in advance, $40 day of show. VIP meet-and-greet tickets are $149. For 21 and over: Beer and wine is available with valid ID. Limited seating and a lot of dance space. Seating is first come, first claimed. There is no reserved or guaranteed seating. Limited VIP packages include a concert ticket and meet-and-greet opportunity with Los Lobos for $149. The concert is expected to sell out with a capacity of only 1700 people and 100% of proceeds from ticket sales will go to Española Humane.
February celebrates Cupid’s power on the 14th and World Spay Day on the 27th, which makes it the perfect month to pair the Latin-inspired music of Los Lobos with the animal lovers of Española Humane. “This extraordinary performance will celebrate our passion for animals. And what better band to bring to town than Los Lobos, named after the progenitors of today’s dog companions?” Bridget Lindquist, Executive Director for Española Humane said. “It’ll be a howling good time!”
Española Humane recently adopted the tagline, More Love Per Paw, and has been offering free spay/neuter surgeries and vaccines in underserved neighborhoods for the past five years. In recent months, the nonprofit has given away 1,200 pounds of straw to help insulate family pets during winter’s cold. The goal is to create a healthier community for pets and their families.
“We manage a city-owned animal shelter,” Karl Ferguson, Deputy Director for Española Humane said. “That means that 91% of your gift goes directly to the animals in our care. The partnership with Los Lobos and this special concert goes a long way in raising awareness.”
