From Española Pathways Shelter:
Homelessness is an issue with which our communities struggle. Perhaps you would like to learn more about how people from our region are dealing with this issue and finding solutions.
The public is invited to attend the Sunday Forum at the Unitarian Church of Los Alamos at 11:45 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8 at 1738 North Sage St.
The Forum will feature two remarkable leaders from the Española Pathways Shelter, CEO Dena Moscola and COO Jake Stockwell. The subject of their presentation is “Homelessness in the Española Valley – Growth and Changes at Pathways Shelter”.
Moscola is originally from New Jersey but now lives in Española. Moscola was the founding executive director when Pathways Shelter opened in 2019 and stayed until 2021. She regained her leadership position in March of 2024. Moscola is steering the only homeless shelter in Rio Arriba County through multiple challenges towards new goals.
Stockwell lives in Española and has worked at Pathways Shelter since 2020 in multiple roles. Stockwell directs the day-to-day operations of Pathways Shelter. His commitment and leadership to advocating and assisting the unhoused led him to a position on the Homelessness Action Team of Rio Arriba County Health Council.
