The Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of Muy Salsas, 1315 Trinity Dr., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday, Jan. 14.
Christine Martinez, who owns the restaurant along with her sister Gisel and mother Patricia Corral described the opening as “a dream come true”.
“This is a very special day for us,” she said, explaining that the restaurant was able to open after months of work with the grand opening attended by family and friends.
The community turned out for the festivities; the restaurant was filled with well-wishers.
“We are thrilled to be able to be here and help celebrate the opening of Muy Salsas,” Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce Director Ryn Herrmann said.
“It’s good to see a new restaurant in Los Alamos, especially one that is opened for breakfast and everything else,” Los Alamos County Council David Reagor said.
Reagor added that it was particularly great because the community has already had the opportunity to try out Muy Salsas’ food Friday nights at Bathtub Row Brewing Co-op in Central Park Square.
Muy Salsas offers authentic Mexican cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Breakfast items on the menu include eggs with chorizo, old-fashioned oatmeal and more. Lunch and dinner offer a variety of enchiladas, tacos, seasonal Muy Salsas guacamole items such as Mole Chihuahuense con rib-eye by Chef Alonso Rico.
The hours and days of operation will evolve as the owners decide what works best in the middle of this uncertain time. Right now, the plan is to open 8:30 a.m. to about 8 p.m., six days a week, and possibly offer carry out as well. Work is underway to obtain a liquor license and perhaps rent out space at the restaurant for office parties and other events.
