FBI News:

Malcolm Torres of Española was arrested Sunday on a federal indictment charging him with second-degree murder in the death of 5-year-old Renezmae Calzada.

The FBI, with the assistance of the Española Police Department arrested Torres in Pojoaque Pueblo without incident.

Torres is expected to have an initial appearance today in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque.

Calzada’s body was found Sept. 11 in the Rio Grande River in Rio Arriba County.

No further information will be released until after the initial appearance.

The public is reminded that all defendants are considered innocent unless found guilty in a court of law.
