New Mexico Extends Indoor Masks To At Least Oct. 15

From the Office of the Governor:

SANTA FE – The statewide requirement that face masks be worn in all indoor public spaces, with only limited exceptions and regardless of vaccination status, will be extended, the Office of Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced Wednesday.

Gov. Lujan Grisham authorized the reimplementation of the mask requirement last month in an effort to stem the state’s rising tide of COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations.

New Mexico COVID-19 Sept. 14 Update: 749 New Cases, Totaling 242,399 With 12 New Deaths And 210,738 Recovered

STATE News:

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials announced 749 additional COVID-19 cases today in New Mexico.

Los Alamos County reports zero new cases today so the total remains at 635 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)

This update includes 12 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

NMDOH: $63M Grant To Help Schools Fund COVID Testing

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) has begun distributing a federal grant to provide funds and direct assistance to help New Mexico schools pay for and execute mandated COVID-testing programs.

The award from the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity Funding program is for use in this fiscal year to help schools meet  surveillance testing requirements and keep students and staff in schools. Read More

Mobile Vaccination Events For Week Ending Sept. 18

NMPED News:

SANTA FE — Two Mobile Vaccination School Events are scheduled for the week ending Sept. 18.

Anyone can get a COVID-19 vaccine at these events, although the focus is on eligible students. Those under age 18 need to provide a signed consent form, but parents do not have to be present for student vaccination.

Schools may request an on-site vaccination event through this Department of Health webform. Schools should have at least 25 eligible people, who can include family and community members.

NMDOH: Reports Of Severe Illness In New Mexico Associated With Use Of Products Containing Ivermectin To Prevent Or Treat COVID-19

NMDOH News:
SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health, (NMDOH) in collaboration with the New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center, is monitoring cases of ivermectin toxicity among persons attempting to treat COVID-19.
NMDOH is asking all health care providers to report ivermectin toxicity cases effective today. In addition, all deaths related to ivermectin fall under the statutory requirement to report to the Office of the Medical Investigator.

Las Cumbres Community Services Celebrates 50 Years!

Las Cumbres Community Services (LCCA) is celebrating its 50th anniversary! Services first began in 1970 White Rock, with a sheltered workshop for adults with developmental disabilities to provide vocational, social and living skills training.

The agency received its 501c3 status in 1971 and has continued to grow since that time to meet expanding community needs resulting in the addition of community infant and early childhood and youth and caregiver services.

The New Mexico Freedoms Alliance organized a protest today in response to Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) mandating the COVID-19 vaccine for all employees. New Mexico Public Education Department Receives $9 Million Mental Health Grant

LANL Workers To Protest Vaccine Mandate Tuesday

In response to Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) mandating the COVID-19 vaccine for all employees, hundreds of workers will be Calling Out and gathering 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7 in a Freedom Assembly at Ashley Pond Park.
