Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities announce today that results published in the 2020 drinking water quality report demonstrate excellent water quality throughout Los Alamos County.

Covering the period of January through December 2020, the report highlights the county’s drinking water source information, how the county’s water is protected and test results, including all substances and levels of substances detected in the water.

New Mexico Environment Department Reaches Settlement With Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute

ALBUQUERQUE — The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) has reached a settlement agreement with Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute (LBRI) for alleged violations of New Mexico’s Radiation Protection Act dating back to 2017.

LBRI is in Albuquerque on property accessed through Kirtland Air Force Base. NMED alleged the facility failed to provide financial assurance sufficient to cover the cost of decommissioning radioactive materials at the facility.

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) advises residents not to touch unknown animals or wildlife in distress, but rather report the incident to local animal control services for proper care or action.

NEW MEXICO — The State of New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department [ALTSD] announced today that the following visitation, activities and testing changes are now in effect for the state’s long-term care facilities (LTCs):

New Mexico COVID-19 Update: 264 New Cases, Total 204,961 With 10 New Deaths And 193,574 Recovered Since Saturday

SANTA FE – New Mexico Department of Health officials have announced 264 new COVID-19 cases between Saturday, Sunday and today.

Los Alamos County reports 1 new case over the last three days bringing the total to 537 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)
