Council Proclamation Marks One Year Since COVID-19 Pandemic Began And Honors Those Helping Community

Councilor Sara Scott presented a proclamation on behalf of the Los Alamos County Council observing the one year milestone since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The proclamation also declared Wednesday, March 24, 2021 as “Lights On, Los Alamos…and Howl!” in appreciation for all those who have helped the community.

New Mexico Supreme Court Rules Dangerous Mentally Incompetent Defendants May Be Committed Longer

SANTA FE — Defendants found to be mentally incompetent to stand trial and dangerous may be committed for treatment for additional time because of aggravating circumstances, the New Mexico Supreme Court (NMSC) ruled Wednesday.

SANTA FE – New Mexicans enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will receive a 15 percent increase to their monthly food benefits for January through September 2021, announced the New Mexico Human Services Department.
