Los Alamos County’s Emergency Management Office is coordinating with the New Mexico Department of Health to hold COVID-19 “swab” testing clinics for anyone wishing to be tested for the coronavirus

The clinics are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday at Fuller Lodge.

DOH, through the County Emergency Management Office, will be at Fuller Lodge 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays to administer the COVID-19 “swab” for anyone wishing to be tested for the coronavirus.

Vaccination Clinic For Phase 1A, 1B In Los Alamos Jan. 18

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County’s Emergency Management Office is coordinating with the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) to hold a COVID-19 vaccination clinic, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, in Griffith Gymnasium at Los Alamos High School, 1300 Diamond Dr.

The clinic will be limited to vaccinating remaining healthcare workers in phase 1A and beginning phase 1B, which includes teachers, frontline essential workers and citizens over age 75. This vaccine clinic is free.

First Round Of Vaccines For LAPS Staff Begins Monday

The first round of COVID-19 vaccinations for Los Alamos Public Schools staff begins Monday, Jan. 18.

Staff over age 50 who are working directly with students and are in close contact with students are eligible to be vaccinated in this first round. SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health on Wednesday announced the updated statewide COVID-19 map for the two-week period beginning Jan. 13, with 30 counties at the Red Level.

New Mexico Has First Case Of B117 Coronavirus Variant

DOH News:
SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) announced today the state’s first case of the B117 coronavirus variant.
A male in his 60’s has the variant; he is associated with travel to the UK in December. He is recovering from very mild illness; no hospitalization was required.
To this point, DOH has identified no close contacts within the state.
The B117 coronavirus variant first emerged in the UK in September, 2020. It has since spread to multiple countries and several U.S. states.

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) is investigating one confirmed case and one suspected case of wound botulism.

A 28-year-old male from Eddy County is hospitalized with wound botulism. The suspected source of infection is contaminated black tar heroin, and the nerve toxin that causes botulism was identified from a patient specimen.

A 29-year-old male from Eddy County with a history of injection drug use is hospitalized with suspected wound botulism.
