SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials have announced this afternoon 255 additional positive tests for COVID-19.
Los Alamos County has another new case bringing today’s total to 18 cases that have tested positive for COVID-19.
Today’s update announces 3 additional deaths reported in New Mexico related to COVID-19.
The New Mexico Department of Health reported today the most recent cases:
- 63 new cases in Bernalillo County
- 17 new cases in Chaves County

New Mexico School Meals Continue For All Students Without In-Person Learning

SANTA FE — No child will miss a school-provided meal due to remote learning to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, the New Mexico Public Education Department reaffirmed Wednesday.
Since in-person instruction ended March 16, the department has provided almost 9 million meals to New Mexico children through their school districts. That will continue.

SANTA FE –The New Mexico Human Services Department has applied for federal approval to implement the Restaurant Meals Plan (RMP) as a means of continuing state assistance to businesses that have been impacted by the economic crisis sparked by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Restaurant Meals Plan is an addition to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and would grant New Mexico families and individuals who qualify for SNAP greater access to meals by allowing them to purchase prepared meals from participating New Mexico restaurants.

The Los Alamos Parkinson’s and Movement Disorder Support Group hosts virtual meetings at 2 p.m. every Wednesday.
Through the PMD Alliance (Parkinson’s and Movement Disorder Alliance), the group uses Zoom and has made it a secure site by requiring a password and using the “waiting room” function to let members in.

ALBUQUERQUE — Several restaurants across New Mexico have continued dine-in services, which is in direct violation of the state Public Health Order and in doing so have endangered workers and customers.
The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) encourages employees of those establishments who have left employment due to safety concerns to apply for unemployment benefits.
