Volunteers donating time and services are asked to log their hours and efforts using a form available on the County’s COVID-19 website: https://losalamosnm.us/cms/One.aspx?portalId=6435810&pageId=16645183
Whether residents are spending time helping to deliver meals to vulnerable seniors or making face masks for the community and County first responders, Los Alamos County government would like to know.

County Announces Upcoming Budget Hearings, Format
COUNTY News:
Budget hearings are set for April 20, 21, 27 and 28. All hearings begin at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers.
The format will be the same format used for the March 31 and April 7 council meetings that complies with the recent New Mexico Department of Health’s public emergency order governing mass gathering because of COVID-19.
Public in-person attendance will not be allowed. Minimal County staff will be in attendance in person to present their proposed budget items and all Councilors will be participating using the Zoom conference platform.

Supreme Court Election Case Hearing Streamed Live Tuesday

SANTA FE – Live streaming will be available Tuesday of a Supreme Court hearing in a case concerning procedures for the June primary election.
Oral arguments in the case will begin at 1:30 p.m., and New Mexico PBS, KNME-TV, will stream the hearing on its YouTube channel.
This will be the first hearing by the New Mexico Supreme Court conducted by video conferencing.

ALBUQUERQUE – The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) has released unofficial numbers for new Unemployment Insurance (UI) claims filed for Friday, April 3 to Thursday, April 9:
- 20,085 – Total number of new claims processed for the week. Not all claimants will qualify for UI benefits.
- 62,136 – Number of weekly certifications for the same timeframe mentioned above. These include people receiving benefits and others who are in the system and awaiting determination.
- $442 million – Current trust fund balance.
