FBPLA News:
The First Born Program of Los Alamos (FBPLA) is collaborating with the Los Alamos Women’s Health Services to provide pregnant patients with a book about pelvic floor health. During a recent meeting with First Born to explore collaboration possibilities, Dr. Sharon Ransom, one of the OBGyns, expressed a hope to offer The Pelvic Floor Health Guide to her 40 pregnant patients.
Recently, First Born received generous donations from two local thrift stores, The Shop on the Corner and the United Church Thrift Shop. First Born is paying it forward by gifting Dr. Ransom’s office and their patients 50 copies of the Pelvic Floor Health Guide. Upon receiving the books, Dr. Ransom explained why she chose to focus on this issue: “In this community, many of my patients want to delve into in-depth research-based information. I am delighted to be able to give them the opportunity to learn more about this important topic!”
FBPLA Board President, Karen Holmes, shared, “First Born’s collaboration with Los Alamos Women’s Health Services is yet another way we can continue to support parents in our community. FBPLA is helping get the word out that women can access a full range of health services right here in town, and Dr. Ransom and her team make sure their patients know about First Born and all we have to offer to families.”
With these generous contributions from the thrift stores and other donations from the community, First Born anticipates continuing this important collaboration into the foreseeable future.
