National Forests in Arizona and New Mexico are hiring numerous Forestry Technician positions to be part of the team, implementing the Forest Service mission to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the nation’s forests and grasslands to meet the needs of present and future generations.
The Forest Service is accepting applications for permanent seasonal employees in Arizona and New Mexico. The positions are Forestry Aid (GS-03/04/05) with a promotion potential to GS-05, and Forestry Technician (GS-05 with promotion potential up to GS-07). Positions will be a 13/13 schedule on initial appointment, meaning six months on and six months off, with potential to be adjusted. To be eligible, you must be a U.S. citizen or national who is at least 18 years of age, meet selective service requirements (if applicable) and meet drug testing requirements.
The Santa Fe National Forest is hiring for a variety of forestry technician positions located on the Jemez, Pecos/Las Vegas, Espanola, and Coyote Ranger Districts, in addition to one position at the Forest Supervisor’s Office in Santa Fe. Forestry technicians accomplish a wide array of duties in various natural resource program areas, including timber, silviculture, recreation, wildlife, watershed, range, vegetation, and ecosystems.
