The Dirty Dogs Contest 2024 is celebrating 13 years and will award a $10,000 grand prize to the stray dog that garners the most votes.
Imagine going to a job interview, or on a first date, smelly and covered in dirt. That’s what it’s like for millions of shelter pets across the country waiting to get adopted. Of the 6.5 million dogs that enter shelters each year, a majority of them have never been groomed. Instead of stealing hearts, potential adopters are turned off.
Now the community has a chance to help support shelters, and the dirty dogs in their care, by casting their votes in Wahl’s 2024 Dirty Dogs Contest. Giuseppe of Española is getting the most votes and the shelter will receive $10,000 if it wins the Dirty Dogs Contest. The 13th annual Dirty Dogs Contest, made possible through donated grooming supplies and a partnership between Greater Good Charities, Wahl Pets and The Animal Rescue Site, shows some of the best doggie makeovers from across the country.
First place wins $10,000, second place receives $3,000 and third place earns $2,000.
