Former Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes

Global Santa Fe is presenting a talk by Ben Rhodes “After the Fall: Being American in the World We’ve Made” at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5 at New Mexico History Museum, 113 Lincoln Ave., Santa Fe, NM. 87501. A book signing is included with the talk.

Rhodes is probably best known today as co-host of Pod Save the World, but that is just one of his many activities. He is a contributor for NBC News and MSNBC and a senior advisor to former President Barack Obama.

An accomplished author, his most recent book, After the Fall: Being American in the World We’ve Made is the result of years of traveling to dozens of countries where he had the opportunity to speak with activists and politicians who have and continue to confront rising nationalism and authoritarianism.

From 2009-2016, Rhodes served as a Deputy National Security Advisor where he oversaw the President’s national security communications, speechwriting and public diplomacy. He was a key player in the reestablishment of relations with Cuba. As listeners to the Pod know, Rhodes is as thoughtful as he is outspoken.
