Happening This Week At SALA: Movies, Events, Classic Films

SALA Los Alamos Event Center has announced this week’s lineup of events, featuring new movie releases, engaging community forums and classic film screenings.

Here’s what’s happening:

New Reels:

  • Fly Me to the Moon: Don’t miss the final opportunity to watch this out-of-this-world adventure on Thursday. Showtimes are at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., with closed captioning available for the 1 p.m. show.
  • Despicable Me 4: The beloved minions return for another week of fun. Showtimes are at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., Thursday and Friday, 1 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday.
  • Deadpool and Wolverine: Premiering at SALA Event Center this Friday, the highly anticipated film will be shown at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Community Events:

  • Los Alamos Faith and Science Forum: Join us on Tuesday at 6 p.m. for an intriguing discussion on Neurotheology and Brain Mapping during various mental states, including prayer, meditation, and mystical experiences.

Classics:

  • Howard Hawks Films: Sponsored by Wiemann Wealth, this week’s classic film is “The Big Sleep,” showing on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Slice and Cinema Nights:

  • Enjoy a slice of pizza and a movie with friends and family 5:30-7 p.m. every Friday and Saturday.
