The Los Alamos High School Varsity Hilltopper Football Team hosted the Española Sundevils for their season opener Friday night at Sullivan Field.

The stands were packed on both sides with fans supporting the teams.

The Sundevils came out strong, scoring first in the matchup. The Toppers found the endzone three times  but missed the extra points after each touchdown, which turned out to be the difference in the final score.

Ultimately, the Sundevils beat the Toppers 21-18.
