NMDCA News:

New Mexico Museum of Art (NMMOA) and New Mexico History Museum (NMHM) will once again bring the Holiday Open House to the Plaza Saturday, Dec. 16.

Museums are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and programs run 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be puppetry shows, music performances, and more family-friendly activities across both museums all day.

At New Mexico Museum of Art explore the galleries, create holiday crafts, enjoy outstanding performances by some of Santa Fe’s most talented young musicians with the Santa Fe Youth Symphony association.

Don’t miss Teatro Duende’s performance of “A Holiday Party for Pappa Gus,” this year’s puppet show featuring the New Mexico Museum of Art’s replicas of Gustave Baumann’s historic puppets. The Baumann Marionette Christmas Show has been a NMMOA tradition since 1932. There will also be holiday crafts at the new NMMOA Vladem Contemporary.

New Mexico History Museum will have a great line-up of music throughout the day including David James, guitarist, Mel Gallegos and Coro Agua de Fria Choir, Marlon Magdalena, Native American flute, Rachel Kelli: Stradivarius Violin Co. and Schola Cantorum. This is a free event

The holiday open house is one of the most endearing traditions and a great family-friendly way to explore the museums.
