WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House Ethics Committee announced today that it is dismissing the complaint against U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Luján (D-NM) and closing the case without further action.

The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust raised a concern in June whether Luján had improperly used images of Democrats on the House floor in fundraising emails.

Luján’s Communication Director Joe Shoemaker released today the following statement:

“Today the Ethics Committee dismissed the allegations against Congressman Luján. They came initially from a politically motivated complaint, filed by a partisan outside group – it was a complaint without merit, and the Committee acted appropriately by dismissing the case. Congressman Luján is committed to abiding by House Rules and will continue to do so in the future.”
