The community is invited learn all about native weeds with the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3 at  its free event, “Native Weeds of Pajarito Plateau”.

In this insightful presentation, Sam Loflin will challenge the conventional distinctions between weeds and wildflowers, emphasizing the subjective nature of these labels.

Through a closer examination of around 40 native plants often dismissed as weeds, Loflin will highlight their unique characteristics, ecological contributions and hidden beauty.

Attendees will engage in a dynamic discussion about these plants’ roles in gardening and landscaping, potentially re-evaluating their value and reconsidering their place in the environment.
