PEEC News:

Dr. Joyce Guzik will reveal the inner workings of the Sun at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10. Then, the full-dome film Exploding Universe will play in the planetarium at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 11-12.

These planetarium programs are at the Los Alamos Nature Center and are made possible thanks to the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC).

During the Friday show, Guzik will explain how we know what is going on inside the Sun even though we cannot ‘see’ beyond its surface. She will discuss why the Sun shines and the possible fate of the Sun and Earth, and guarantees that you will learn something about the Sun that you did not know before.

Exploding Universe uncovers cosmic events that shaped the Universe. This full-dome film explores a world where supernovas erupt, massive materials collide, and protons give birth to life as we know it.

For more information about these and future planetarium shows, visit www.peecnature.or g/planetarium. To reserve tickets, call 505.662.0460.

The Los Alamos Nature Center will be open regular hours this month: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday as well as 1-4 p.m. Sunday. The nature center is open until 8 p.m. Tuesdays and closed Thursdays for regular maintenance.
