IFAM News:
SANTA FE — The International Folk Art Market (IFAM) will be hosting a book signing Dec. 4 for a new book the organization has published—IN THE BUDDHA’S LIGHT by Joanna Hurley with photographs from award-winning photographer, Jack Parsons and a foreword by Buddhist teacher, Zen priest and anthropologist, Roshi Joan Halifax, Ph.D.
“We’re thrilled to not only announce the publication of IN BUDDHA’S LIGHT, but also to be able to offer the public a chance to meet the author and to have their copy signed,” IFAM CEO Stuart Ashman said. “The book is truly a work of art, providing an immersive experience into the temples of Luang Prabang in Laos. We invite all who are attending our holiday market to stop in for this special event.”
The lively memoir takes readers through the small city of Luang Prabang in Southeast Asia—a World Heritage site with over 35 Buddhist Temples that draws in half a million visitors a year. In addition to an engaging story, the book features 75 stunning color photographs of temples, monks and the city.
“In a year where travel hasn’t been a possibility, IN BUDDHA’S LIGHT gives readers a chance to explore the world again,” Ashman said. “We know you’ll get lost in the fascinating journey, as well as the beautiful photography.”
The signing event is 46 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4 at the IFAM Center retail space at 620 Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe as part of the IFAM Holiday Market.
