Invitation To Informational Meeting For Upcoming Los Alamos School Board Elections

For the Nov. 5 election in Los Alamos, there will be three School Board seats on the ballot.
 
The seats include District 3 (Aspen Elementary), Position 3 Board Member; District 4 (Barranca Elementary and Los Alamos Middle School), Position 4 Board Member; and District 5 (Mountain Elementary and Los Alamos High School), Position 5 Board Member.
 
All positions are four-year terms.
 
If you are interested in running for a seat on the School Board, you are invited to an informal meeting noon to 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 23 at the LAPS School Board Room. Bring your lunch and a refillable water bottle.
 
Board President Ellen Ben-Naim and Superintendent Kurt Steinhaus will share information about serving as a School Board Member.
 
There also will be time for a Q&A.
 
Candidate Filing Day for the Los Alamos Public School District is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Aug. 27 in Room 200 at the Municipal Building.
