Joe Cox Trio Performs Saturday Evening At LA Cantina

This Saturday, July 22, The Joe Cox Trio will play light smooth jazz 6-8 p.m. at LA Cantina, 157 Central Park Square.

LA Cantina serves modern comfort food and offers a full drink menu with beers, wines and spirits. A charming robot brings your food orders right to your table.

Frary, who has been in Los Alamos for 18 years, plays a Sonor Bop drum kit and has performed with other groups like Craig Martin Experience and Black Mesa Quintet. When he is not playing drums, he goes by JT Appliance Service. 

Bass player Coe, a resident of of Los Alamos for 23 years, carries a Steinberger electric and upright bass. Coe is a filmmaker at LANL, but studied composition at Berklee School of Music. Recently Coe and Cox performed with the LA Little Theater Follies in the Drag Brunch at LA Cantina. 

Cox, who moved to LA in 1991, has been in pop music publishing for more than 30 years, transcribing and arranging the music of artists such as Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, Pink, Ed Sheeran and many more.  

This Saturday night the trio will be providing a background ambience, playing Cox’s arrangements of smooth jazz, American standards and pop favorites.
