Kirtland AFB – Kirtland AFB and USDA Forest Service will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony for Cibola National Forest Air Tanker Base 9 a.m. Friday, May 17.

The new Air Tanker Base on Kirtland increases U.S. Forest Service capabilities to respond to wildfires in the region.

Construction of this Air Tanker Base took roughly two years to complete and became operational on April 29.

Leaders will be visiting Cibola National Forest Air Tanker Base at Kirtland AFB for a tour of the facilities.
