The Los Alamos Fire Department responded this afternoon to a house fire on 45th Street off Sandia Drive. Fire Marshall James Pepe told the Los Alamos Daily Post at 3:15 p.m. today that the fire had been doused but firefighters were still on scene finishing up. The cause of the fire is under investigation, Pepe said; however, it occurred in the kitchen and initially appears to be caused by food burning on the stove. No injuries were reported.
