YMCA News:
Los Alamos Heart Council, in partnership with The Family YMCA, sponsored a “Heart Smart Poster Contest” during February, which is American Heart Month.
The Council and the Y encourage everyone to get their blood pressure checked as a first step in heart care.
The following youth won a top prize of $50 each with their creative posters:
- Second grader Corbin Wakeford’s poster encourages good nutrition, exercise and happiness;
- Brandon Keller, 4th grader, used a “Mine Craft” theme directing people to be Heart Smart; and
- Grace Norman illustrated the size of the heart and the amount of blood the heart pumps daily.
CEO Chris Daniels said the Y is grateful for Los Alamos Heart Council’s leadership in encouraging heart health.
