More than 240 female wrestlers from New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona and Texas competed Friday and Saturday in the “Conflict At Cleveland” Wrestling Tournament held at the Rio Rancho Event Center in Rio Rancho.
This varsity-only tournament saw some of the strongest talent and toughest battles in high school female wrestling.
“The girls wrestled exceptionally well and showed a lot of grit throughout the tournament,” LAHS Girls Head Wrestling Coach Emily Tew said.
The Conflict At Cleveland Tournament was a two-day event during which each competitor must advance well enough on the first day to compete in the finals on the second day of the tournament.
