NJROTC News:

It would appear winning has become routine for Los Alamos High School’s Navy Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (NJROTC), which won multiple awards at the New Mexico State JROTC Championships Saturday at Rio Rancho High School.

But any routine established by Topper Company might be better explained as “discipline learned by example”.

“Our senior cadet staff has steadily led from the front and it showed at this past weekend’s state drill meet. The cadets have worked hard all year and their efforts paid off in spades,” NJROTC Instructor Chief Aron Ayers said. “Every competition team has placed this year, some multiple times. We’re immensely proud of our physical fitness teams led by C/CPO Rebecca Moss and C/PO1 Jackson Blair for bringing home the state championship. The future is bright for Topper Company.”

The following cadets won individual awards:

Emma Drake (Drill Down, 3rd place)

Jenny Stafford (Kneeling Marksmanship, 1st place)
Jackson Blair (Male 800m Run)
Sofia West (Female Crunches, 2nd place)
Jaceena Hornberger (Female Crunches, 1st place)
Ethan Chandler (Male Crunches, 2nd place)
Jaceena Hornberger (Flexed Arm Hang, 2nd place)
Tyson Lujan (Pull-Ups, 3rd place)
Jaceena Hornberger (Top Female Athlete, 1st place)
Tyson Lujan (Top Male Athlete, 3rd place)
Jackson Blair (Top Male Athlete, 1st place)
