NJROTC News:
The Los Alamos High School (LAHS) Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp (NJROTC) conducted its annual Area Manager’s Inspection Thursday morning during which all cadets receive a strict personal review of standards ranging from proper grooming to presenting themselves with pride both as individuals and a unit.
“The Area Manager’s Inspection is a big deal for Los Alamos NJROTC,” Chief Aron Ayers said. “It’s what everyone works so hard for year-round. Each cadet was given a personal review in class prior to the event. LCDR Wes Shumaker, the inspecting officer, inspected for how “sharp” they looked, made sure their grooming standards were up to par, their uniform and shoes were being worn properly, and that they presented themselves with pride. Topper Company, as always, performed admirably and we received good feedback for the future. This was a great way to begin wrapping up the school year.”
Topper Company Executive Officer C/LT Cathryn De Wulf said, “Today’s annual Area Manager’s Inspection was a success. I am proud of the cadets. It was an honor to be a part of and help rebuild Topper Company.”
The inspection took place in Griffith Gymnasium before a large crowd of proud parents joined by LAHS Principal Carter Payne and LAHS Interim Superintendent Jennifer Guy.
“This year’s AMI was a great demonstration of how much Topper Company has accomplished after a difficult year of COVID,” Topper Company Commanding Officer C/LCDR Aleena Fullop said. “The cadets and staff have worked so hard for this moment, and I am happy to see it come to fruition. I would like to formally thank and congratulate the cadet staff and Chief Ayers because without them this Unit would not be where it is today.”
