Los Alamos High School Senior Rosalie Martinez has been awarded a $3,500 scholarship from the New Mexico High School Rodeo Association along with the Spirit Award Buckle.

She was presented the scholarship award and buckle at the New Mexico High School Finals in Lovington Memorial Day weekend.  Martinez chose not to walk the high school graduation line so that she could compete at the finals.

Martinez has been a member of the NMHSRA for the past three years and competes in the barrel racing, breakaway roping, and pole bending events. During the 2021-2022 season, she was the breakaway roping student director.

In the fall, Martinez will be attending New Mexico State University where she plans to study business.  She is the daughter of Gilbert and Bernadette Martinez of Canjilon, NM.
